A captive audience of alumni, industry and community members came together for October's CATalyst CHAT to hear from a panel of experts on fusion energy, one of the most ambitious engineering challenges of our time. Facilitated by U of A College of Engineering Craig M. Berge Dean David Hahn, panelists were Senior Vice President for U of A Research & Partnerships Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, Special Advisor Horst Hahn, Inertia CEO Jeff Lawson and Inertia Co-Founder Mike Dunne.
Fusion is a field that could change everything we know about powering our world, and U of A's strengths in materials science, optical diagnostics and systems engineering provide a unique advantage in addressing this big, bold challenge. The university is aligning with partners like Inertia to help bring fusion from the lab to market.
The event was produced in partnership with the U of A Alumni Engineering Council, which advocates for U of A's engineering programs and encouraged attendees to inspire young minds to consider the U of A.
Dìaz de la Rubia said about the event: "These conversations reflect what makes U of A distinct: convergence across disciplines, partnerships that matter and research in service to society."
Join us for our next CATalyst CHAT on Nov. 4 focusing on sleep health.
