Global Café sparks international dialogue on energy
The U of A Scottsdale Center recently welcomed more than 15 international delegates—from Angola to Zambia—for a Global Café focused on U.S. energy systems and innovation.
Organized by Global Ties Arizona, the event created space for meaningful dialogue between visiting leaders and Arizona-based industry professionals, with conversations spanning energy initiatives, resource management, market differentiation and affordability.
The gathering brought together more than 70 attendees, including 13 energy leaders representing 12 countries, alongside voices from Arizona’s business and energy sectors. Jill Howard Allen, U of A Director of Industry Outreach, highlighted the critical role of academia and research in advancing energy innovation and strengthening energy security.
By connecting global perspectives with local expertise, the Global Café underscored the U of A’s role as a catalyst for international collaboration—advancing energy solutions that extend far beyond Arizona and shape a more sustainable future worldwide.
